Dr. Yeap Ban Har has taught mathematics in elementary, middle and high schools across the globe as well as mathematics education courses at the National Institute of Education in Singapore. He is currently principal at the Marshall Cavendish Institute in Singapore. Dr. Ban Har has written several textbooks on the Singapore math approach as well as articles and chapters in numerous mathematics education publications. He has served on the editorial boards of two mathematics education journals, Mathematical Thinking and Learning and The Mathematics Educator. He is one of the contributing authors to a book based on a study commissioned by the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI), Mathematics Education in Different Cultural Traditions: A Comparative Study of East Asia and the West: The 13th ICMI Study.
