After-School Program Staff Position

Quest Academy, a private school for academically gifted children in Palatine, is seeking experienced staff to work in the Extended Day Program. The hours are 3:00 - 6:00 pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and 2:30 - 6:00 pm on Wednesday. There are opportunities to work with children in PreK-K, first-third, and fourth-eighth grade. The program begins on Wednesday, August 24. Salary starts at $10.00/hr and increases with experience. All applicants must be First Aid and CPR certified (or show enrollment in certification class).

Job Summary
The Quest Extended Day Program staff are responsible for the well-being and supervision of preschool and elementary age children. We provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where children can enjoy both free play and planned activities.

Essential Functions
Monitor student daily attendance.
Set-up and clean-up program in cafeteria on a daily basis.
Help plan, prepare and implement daily snacks and activities for children.
Supervise recreational and snack periods.
Attend the three full-day programs offered during the academic year.
Other duties as assigned by the Extended Day Program Director.

Substitutes must have a Bachelor’s Degree and be an experienced teacher.

Lower School Science Teacher

Quest Academy is currently accepting applications for a Lower School (grades 1-5) Science Teacher. The best candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in science and at least two years’ experience in classroom teaching. This person will have a strong passion for the subject and an energetic and enthusiastic attitude for teaching. Job responsibilities include planning all lessons in accordance with Quest curriculum guidelines and maintaining that curriculum, communicating with parents, collaborating with other teachers, maintaining student records, using Positive Discipline guidelines for managing classroom, attending in-services and faculty meetings, and providing supervision as assigned. Quest Academy is currently seeking a Director of Finance and Operations to begin July 1, 2017. This is a full-time, 12-month position. Working with the Head of School and appropriate Board committees, the DFO manages the resources of Quest Academy. This person is responsible for the long and short term planning, control, accounting and reporting of income, expense, fixed assets, and invested and contributed funds of the school. The DFO manages all activities designated as business office responsibilities including, but not limited to, risk management and insurance, employee compensation and personnel policies, and Business Office compliance with accrediting agencies and the Illinois State Board of Education.
