Mathcounts State Competition

Congratulations to our Mathcounts team, they came in fourth in state. Over 230 schools participate in Mathcounts. 280 students were at the competition Saturday, March 4. Freddie placed 12th, Doogy 20th and Rachna 56th.

Science Olympiad

The Quest Academy Science Olympiad Team traveled to Naperville this past Saturday for the regional competition. This was our first time out and we only competed in a few of the many events, but the kids had a good time. Our thanks to Jigyasa Tuteja and Marvis Donalson, who were our parent volunteers. Sharon Rockhill and Nate Stoffregen were the Quest coaches.

We placed 5th in Food Science (Shikhar & Blake) and in Wright Stuff (Shambhavi & Yash), an airplane building event. We also placed 2nd in Microbe Mission (Sachleen & Reshma), an event where kids had to become conversant in microbiology, identification and parts of a microscope. It is worth noting that our microbe team was comprised of two lower school students who went up against middle school students, a worthy accomplishment!

Calling All Changemakers To Camp Galileo In Arlington Heights
Make this the summer of risk-taking, change-making & crazy amounts of fun. At Camp Galileo, pre-K—5th graders unleash their inner innovators by exploring art, science and the brave outdoors. Campers develop the courage to create, celebrate mistakes and boldly innovate. And as they grow, so does their curriculum—evolving to include more advanced concepts, projects and creative freedom.

At Camp Galileo, campers embrace the exciting and messy steps it takes to change the world around them. They make their own mini stop-motion movies; construct the coolest catapults; make anything from marbleized paper to pneumatic machines. Because they can.

And Galileans do. Check out what they'll explore in all four, new, weekly themes:

· Galileo Amusement Park—The Art & Engineering of Circuses and Carnival Rides

· Galileo Makers: Move It—The Art & Science of Motion

· Medieval Adventure—Royal Art & Inventions of the Middle Ages

· African Safari—The Art & Science of the Serengeti

June 12 - July 21, Galileo returns to St. Peter in Arlington Heights. Other locations available throughout Chicagoland, including Winnetka with a program for 6-8th graders. 9am-3pm, one week sessions. Extended care from 8am to 6pm. Financial Assistance available. Optional healthy lunch program. Changemakers start here. Only at Galileo. Visit us at www.galileo-camps.com or call 1-800-854-3684. Click here for the flyer.
