Thoughts from alumni...

Quest Academy provided me with the opportunity to pursue my passions and develop new ones. The dedicated teachers provided the environment to foster personal strength and confidence that can only be derived through successes and failures.

This summer CTD is piloting a maker space experience for students who have completed grades 1-4. As you may know, a maker space is an open-ended learning environment where students tinker, design and build their own projects using a variety of materials and tools. Our CTD maker space, Challenge Lab, will be open for nine morning sessions in July at our Evanston and Palatine sites. Challenge Lab is open to everyone in grades 1-4 -- No test score or portfolio required for admission. See attached flyer for Challenge Lab dates and details.

For a limited time, we are offering a FREE three-hour Challenge Lab session at our PalatineLeapfrog site at Quest Academy for student recommended by you.

If you know a student who might benefit from participation in the CTD Challenge Lab, please provide the family with the following instructions to sign up for one free session in Palatine.

To enroll in a free Challenge Lab session:

1.Create an account for your student at https://my.ctd.northwestern.edu/family/

2.Choose "Apply Now" and select the program called "MAKE"

3.Select one of the Palatine Challenge Lab sessions.

4.When asked for "Application Method," choose "New Student."

5.When asked for "School Group Code" type "MAKE2016."

6.You will receive an automated email asking you to "complete your application." You may ignore that email. No further action is required.

7.You should receive an acceptance email from a program coordinator within a week.

This offer is good for one session per student at our Palatine site only. If families would like to register a student for additional Challenge Lab sessions, the fee is $60 per sessions.
