Getting Ready for Quest Academy 2017-18
Request For Records Transfer Form (to be sent to previous school for final grades)
As you know, you are more than a name to us. Please send a family photo to firstname.lastname@example.org so we may introduce you to our community.

New Family Meeting
An important part of becoming a new Quest Academy family is a meeting with our Head of School Dr. Khalek Kirkland. Relationships are at the core of the Quest Academy experience and he looks forward to meeting you in person, learning more about your family, and sharing his vision for your child's experience at Quest! His assistant Donna Halverson will reach out to you to arrange this 45 minute meeting soon after you join our community.

6:00 - 8:30 p.m. All School Family Pool Party
You are warmly welcome to attend Quest Academy's All School Family Pool Party (you will receive an evite during the summer). Held at the Schaumburg Park District Waterworks indoor pool, you will enjoy the "splashtastic" indoor water park. We encourage you to bring your entire family to this casual get together and meet other Quest families.
Saturday, August 19
10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten Orientation
All Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten families are strongly encouraged to attend this orientation in the Preschool and Pre-K classrooms. This is an ideal opportunity for you and your child to meet teachers and classmates, find your “cubbie” and more. (This orientation is in addition to the Open Classroom session on Tuesday, August 22.)
Tuesday, August 22
9:30 – 10:30 a.m. New Family Orientation
Join us in the gymnasium for a “Welcome to Quest Academy” orientation hosted by our Head of School, Dr. Khalek Kirkland. All new families should attend with their children. You are welcome to submit a family photo prior to the event which will be shared on the big screen.
10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Open Classrooms
All students from Preschool through Eighth Grade are invited to visit their many classrooms. Check out the art room, music, library, innovation lab and more!
11:30 – 12:30 p.m. Buddy Family Meet & Greet
Join us for this opportunity to meet your Buddy Family. Your kids will have full use of the playground while you get acquainted with other parents. We will meet in the Library which offers full access to the supervised playground.
11:30 – 12:30 p.m. 6th Grade Orientation with Advisors
Sixth grade students and parents are invited to meet classmates and teachers while enjoying a pizza lunch in the cafeteria.
12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Haiku Introduction for Middle School Parents
Learn how to access your student's academic progress online. Held in the Middle School Commons.
Wednesday, August 23
First Day of School
Full day of school! All school supplies are provided by Quest Academy. Just send in your student with their backpack, lunch (unless you have pre-ordered with Gorilla Gourmet), drink and a snack, and be sure your student has sneakers for recess and Physical Education class.
Preschool: 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. unless enrolled in Stay and Play
Pre-Kindergarten - 5th grade: 8:30 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. (please note our early release time on Wednesdays)
6th - 8th grades: 8:15 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. (please note our early release time on Wednesdays)
Before and after school care is available. Please speak with the Admissions Office for details.
Parent Welcome Coffee: Wednesday, August 23, 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.
After dropping your child off for the first day, meet in the gymnasium for a presentation by our Head of School, Dr. Khalek Kirkland. You will also have the opportunity to hear from our PSA Board and Board of Trustees for important information about the 2017-18 school year. All parents should attend.

Lower School, Thursday, August 31 from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
Middle School, Thursday, September 7 from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
Meet your teachers and/or advisors and learn about the curricula and weekly schedule.
Meet the Teacher Nights are for parents -- please arrange for childcare.
New Student Family Picnic
All newly enrolled students and their entire family are invited to enjoy an afternoon of fun at Quest Academy (you will receive an evite). The playground will be supervised while parents relax and enjoy socializing with other parents with new students.
Our Web Site
The best source of information is our web site, questacademy.org. Simply mouse over the Parents tab on the home page, click on The Weekly Quest - this is where all current news and information will be posted. In addition all teachers and staff have pages - these can be found in the Faculty & Staff Directory.
Current information will be found in the Weekly Quest, our school newsletter. You will receive this by email on Saturday morning.
In order to access the Parent Portal and Family Directory, you will need a log on and password. Please be sure we have your current email addresses, it will be your log on. You will receive an email with instructions on how to obtain your password. The web site is our primary source of communication - weekly newsletters, teacher pages, calendars, photo galleries, event information, forms, and documents, and more!
Our front desk is staffed during the school year from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during the summer. All faculty and staff members have pages in the faculty & staff directory that include an email button. You will find voice mail extensions and office hours on teacher pages as well. Quest email addresses follow this formula: email@example.com.

Buddy Family Program
