Quest Academy provides opportunities for students to pursue a broad range of extracurricular activities.
Band
The band program at Quest, which consists of the Cadet Band and Wind Ensemble, is open to students in grades four through eight and includes instruction at all performance levels from beginner through advanced on flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, and percussion. Students learn the basics of performing and advance on their instruments in small-group sectionals held one a week during the school day, and then utilize those skills in band rehearsals held after school. The bands put on two concerts each year, in winter and spring.
Choir
Quest Academy has an outstanding vocal performance program. Choir is part of the regular curriculum for all students through fourth grade. Chamber Choir, Quest's competitive, audition-only choir for older students, wins state choral contests First-ratings routinely and has been invited to competitions and performances around the country and abroad. Other choir options include Bella Voce, an all-girls choir and Benton Street Boys.
Drama
Both Lower School and Middle School Drama at Quest Academy offer a safe environment for students to explore and develop their individual and creative selves. Drama stimulates the imagination that allows exploration of one's ideas and thoughts.
Both Drama teachers help students prepare for various student assemblies, concerts, productions, different culture celebrations, and public speaking opportunities. Students will learn to "step outside of the box" by practicing and understanding emotions and other human experiences and situations.
At Quest Academy, we explore different cultures and life experiences to help understand these experiences and situations no matter what one's race, religion, or background is. This helps the student understand himself/herself and others. We will exercise different communication and social skills, teamwork, creativity, leadership practice. While not all students pursue drama after their days at Quest Academy, our goals is to prepare all students to develop an aesthetic appreciation for the performing arts and to feel comfortable in their own skin.
Academic Competitions
Quest students have the opportunity to participate in the Illinois Math League Contest, the Math Counts competition, the National French Contest, the National Geography and Spelling Bees, History Fair, Science Fair, Destination Imagination, Choir, Academic Bowl, and LEGO Robotics contests.
Social Life
Throughout the year, students take part in school-organized social activities such as bowling parties, swim parties, and dances.
