The Quest Annual Fund

Please enjoy the following quotes we have compiled from various alumni, parents and faculty members. We hope they will inspire and move you to contribute to the Quest Annual Fund and help continue our mission of inspiring and challenging gifted children.

Like all independent schools, Quest Academy operates without financial support from local, state or federal governments and tuition alone does not cover all that a Quest education entails. As such, Quest deeply appreciates and depends on your philanthropic support.

2016-17 Quest Annual Fund Goal

100% Parent Participation

"I wish Quest had a high school, because Quest just gets it!”

Mitchell Brown, Valedictorian, Class of 2016

"Above all things, Quest Academy taught me how to think creatively. To this day, I excel in all of my endeavors and at all of the many challenges that life presents me because of the way that Quest Academy trained me to think and problem solve.”

Craig Stubing, Class of 2002

"Quest Academy provided me with the opportunity to pursue my passions and develop new ones. The dedicated teachers provided the environment to foster personal strength and confidence that can only be derived through successes and failures. The academic foundation and character building experience has assisted me in becoming the person I am today.”

LT Colleen (Praxmarer) Handbury, Class of 2000

"I am thankful to the teachers at Quest for teaching me first that the pursuit of learning is an intrinsic good and, second, that it is not enough to know, but that we should always seek to know why. I am fortunate to have received such a firm foundation for the remainder of my education and life.”

Samir Shah, MD, Class of 1997

"Quest Academy fostered my passion for academic exploration and endowed me with the skills essential for future success. My teachers created a forum where the theoretical and practical could intersect and where learning and enjoyment could co-occur. I vividly remember learning about scientific principles and then watching demonstrations or participating in experiments to illustrate these principles. This learning environment ignited a thirst for knowledge as a means of organizing my own life experiences.”

Mark DeDonato, LCSW, ACSW, CSAT, Valedictorian, Class of 1995

"The teachers are what make this school. They are beyond extraordinary and are passionate about the needs of every student. They provide the most creative hands-on learning experience for the whole child while integrating a highly advanced academic curriculum.”

"We are new parents at Quest and so far we have been really pleased with the activities and varieties of subjects offered such as computer science, drama, science, character building, music, etc. I am happy with our choice, our child is becoming more independent and most importantly, being challenged each day so each day is well spent.”

"Our son just finished his first year at Quest. I can tell you with 100% certainty we made a great decision. His growth emotionally and friends he’s made just can’t be put into words. His achievement results are remarkable. It is so wonderful to wake up every day and have my son tell me how he wants to get to school early and tell me every evening on the way home everything he did during the day.”

"Quest Academy is a great place to learn and grow. With advances in their technology department, strong academics, and a wonderful fine arts department, Quest is worth every dollar.”

"There is a strong sense of community here, and a program to promote core values.”

- Parent reviews taken from, October 2016

"Her compassion and energy is really unique. She cares so much for her students and has a unique way of making learning fun. It seems as though she is always finding new ways to stimulate their minds. Her creativity and engaging spirit really ignites their learning. It warms my heart thinking about all the many ways she has enriched their lives.”

- Aimee Detterbeck, Current & Alumni Parent

"I am amazed by the students at Quest! After 10 years of teaching in schools across the country, these have been the most insightful students I have ever worked with. I love their enthusiasm and their desire to explore every topic I present to them. The students’ eagerness to try new concepts makes me so excited to come to work every day!"

- Annabel Hasty, Lower School Faculty

"It’s exciting to work at a school that allows students to progress as quickly in math as they are comfortable and capable. It’s a privilege to teach middle school students high school math, and it’s clear from the results that they are learning the material as well or better than their high school counterparts.”

- Brian Frank, Middle School Faculty
