Congratulations to Chris B, Gabriella L, Saanvi C, Evan B, Hayden G, these students have qualified for the Broadcom MASTERS (Math, Applied Science, Technology and Engineering for Rising Stars) fair. This is a premier science and engineering competition for middle school students. Society affiliated science fairs around the country nominate the top 10% of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade participants to enter this prestigious competition. After submitting the online application, 300 top projects are selected and 30 finalists present their research projects and compete in team hands-on STEM challenges to demonstrate their skills in critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity.

Science Olympiad

The Quest Knights placed 5th (team overall, Division B, Varsity Team) at the Science Olympiad Regional at Harper College. A team of 15 students (grades 6-8) had been preparing for 18 of the 23 individual events that comprise this competition for the last 7 months, and our students placed 1-5 in 13 of the 18 events. We just narrowly missed to qualify for the State Olympiad (teams 1-4 move to State). This is only the second year that we have participated at the Olympiad, and in fact the first year we have competed as a full team of 15! Team members included: Saanvi C, Blake D, Shikhar G, Rachna G, Florian H, Chethan K, Reshma K, Yash M, Aviral M, Shambavi P, Adam T, Sachleen T, Alex S, Jon S, and Dorian H. Medal tally for individual events: 1st Place – 2, 2nd Place – 1, 3rd Place – 2, 4th Place – 4, 5th Place – 4. Congratulations to the team!
